The Stay Safe in Sheffield campaign has been running for five years and is aimed at children aged 5-11.

Each year, it starts with our staff and Decent Homes partners visiting schools across the city to hold interactive sessions, teaching children about basic health and safety.

During each visit, presentations are made about the dangers of playing on building sites. We also take this opportunity to launch our annual Stay Safe competition. In previous years, this exciting challenge has featured an X Factor-style contest; designing a life size builder mascot; and the creation of a safety-themed board game.

The finalists are invited to a citywide final, where they are presented with medals and a special Stay Safe certificate. Each year, the winning schools receive a top prize of £1,000.
