How can I pay my rent?
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to pay your rent and other charges. There is a wide choice methods - please choose the best and most convenient one for you.
Direct Debit
Direct Debit lets you pay your rent direct from your bank account. There is a choice of monthly dates – the 1st, 7th or 21st - or every Monday.
This is the most convenient way to pay and will automatically change whenever your rent does. (We will write to you beforehand if the amount is going to change).
Direct Debit forms are available by:
- Calling the North Call Centre on 0114 293 0000
- Calling the South Call Centre on 0114 205 3333
- Visiting any Area Housing Office or First Point

Online Payments
Online Payments can be made with a Debit Card via the Internet.
Telephone
To pay by telephone with a Debit / Credit Card, ring the North Call Centre on 0114 293 0000 or the South Call Centre on 0114 205 3333.
You can also call the Automated Payment Line on 0114 273 5249 (choose option 2 when prompted), seven days a week, 365 days a year. You will need your 14 digit rent reference number to make the payment.

At Post Offices, PayPoints and E-Pay outlets
With a rent payment card you can pay at Post Offices, PayPoints, and E-Pay outlets. No charge is made for paying through any of these.

Howden House First Point
You can pay at Howden House First Point using cash, cheque, debit cards or postal orders. Counters are open 8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Standing Order
You can pay by Standing Order via your local bank. Ring 0114 205 3333 or 0114 293 0000 or contact your local Area Housing Office or First Point for an application form.
Salary / wage deduction
Salary / wage deduction is another option if you work for certain employers, such as Sheffield Homes, Sheffield City Council, the Fire Service or Police. Ring 0114 205 3333 or 293 0000 for details.
